Chapter 2 - Bella D'Luna, Accessoires Designer

After having displayed beautiful paintings, I'm now showcasing special jewelry. Bella D'Luna has ties to the goth and steampunk scenes, and she's been a bellydancer for 10 years now. She's from Derby, UK.

Wood Nymph Tribal Pendant
The items in her shop are beautifully extravagant, with lots of feathers and sparkle.

She features an absolutely stunning selection of fascinators, big eye-catching headpieces or small hats that sit in the middle of the head. I do believe a bit less extravagant designs are still in fashion with the British ladies when attending horse races or weddings. Bella also designs top hats, both the normal sized variety and the smaller ones, ideal for your steampunk outfit.

Furthermore, she has a large selection of jewelry in her repertoire. The earrings are made from colorful and interesting glass, resin or wooden beads and are all one of a kind. She has a few gorgeous long shoulder dusters, which is my favourite type of ear jewelry. Also featured is a nice selection of pendants, made for example from glass cabochons or cameos; one large and insanely beautiful Wood Nymph Tribal Pendant is my personal favourite out of the jewelry selection.

For the more adventurous, Bella also offers pasties (small self-adhesive cover-ups for women's nipples :)), and they even come with tassles! :D

Last but not least come the bindis, which are beautiful small sparkly jewelry pieces that go between your eyebrows, the seat of the sixth chacra. They are mounted on a vinyl backing and fixed with eyelash glue or spirit gum.

The word 'bindi' is Hindi and comes from the Sanskrit word 'bindu', which means 'a drop' or 'dot', and the most common form of this is actually a big red dot at the center of the forehead. This bellydancing jewelry is really stunning, and frankly, I've never seen that kind of jewelry before. Maybe because I haven't been looking. But I really need to add one of these to my collection, even though I haven't bellydanced for ages (did one semester while writing my master's thesis). I'm currently trying to figure out how I can pull off wearing it just casually with my everyday outfits ... or maybe I'll simply have to take up bellydancing again. :)

So go on, check out Bella D'Luna's Etsy shop, and deck yourself out with lots of great not-so-everyday accessoires. ´

Chapter 1 - Ruth Trinczek, Painter

This is a great start - this blog isn't even properly up and running yet and I already have a fellow artist I'd like to promote. :)

Ruth Trinczek lives near Frankfurt and has been painting and drawing since her childhood. She autodidactically learned a variety of techniques and has enhanced her skill by taking classes by renowned  artists.

She has great talent, and during the last five years has set up the most successful online gallery and forum for water colour art in Europe. Although she only went public with her work in 2009, she's already won a range of prices and medals. Since 2013 Ruth also teaches water colour classes.

Ruth's focus lies on water colour and mixed media techniques. She paints a wide variety of objects, from birds and flowers over still lifes to architecture and landscapes. What's more, she does not only paint naturalistic but also has great pieces of abstract art.

Please visit her site at http://www.ruthtrinczek.meinatelier.de and leave lots of love in her guestbook. :) She's also planning to set up shop at Etsy and/or DaWanda, so stay tuned for future developments.
